11th annual Daddy and Daughter Date Night

January 7, 2013

The circus is in town for the 11th annual Daddy and Daughter Date Night.

Shawnee County Parks and Recreation said in a news release Monday that Dana Schirmer will DJ the dance Feb. 2 at Big Gage Shelter House at Gage Park. Guests can enjoy free carousel rides and balloon creations by Tootie & Lolly one hour before their scheduled session.

Dinner will be provided by Chick-fil-A, and souvenir photos will be provided by Say Cheez Photography.

The event isn’t limited to fathers, Parks and Rec said, and is open to grandfathers, uncles, stepfathers or others to “bring (their) best girl to celebrate.”

The department said space is limited. Registration for session 2 accepted after session 1 is filled.

Registration and payments are due by January 25.

Session 1 runs from 4 to 6 p.m. with carousel rides from 3 to 4 p.m., and session 2 runs from 7 to 9 p.m. with carousel rides from 6 to 7 p.m. The event costs $35 per couple and $9 per additional daughter.
